Why You Should Support Rebuilding Together Hartford, Inc. Rebuilding Together is the leading national nonprofit organization that rehabilitates the homes of low-income, particularly elderly, people living with disabilites and multigenerational families. Our goals are to keep people living in warmth, safety and independence, allowing them to age in place with dignity, and to revitalize neighborhoods and communities. After months of extensive preparation and planning, our work occurs primarily in the month of April, culminating in a National Rebuilding Day, the last Saturday in April. The Rebuilding Together movement is a nationwide affiliation of 240 local, independently managed Rebuilding Togehter programs. Through its headquarters in Washington, DC, the national office helps affiliates strengthen their capacity to effectively serve an increasing number of needy homeowners. Rebuilding Together provides assistance to affiliates in the areas of program planning and development, board and staff development, marketing and communications, and financial management.
