Homeowner Maintenance Workshops
Rebuilding Together Hartford, Inc. is entering it's tenth year of operations, renovating the homes of elderly, disabled and low income families with children.
In 2000, a new program was introduced for Hartford Homeowners called, "Homeowner Maintenance Workshops". This new program offers the basics of maintaining a home, while giving the homeowners the skills to assess needed repairs, perform preventative, low cost maintenance, and even help with hiring a contractor.
The workshops address a variety of issues such as minor plumbing, electrical & heating issues. As well as energy & water conservation, repairing & replacing windows & cleaning gutters. This new program compliments, but not replaces our existing Rebuilding Day event in April.
These workshops are totally free and offered to all homeowners in Hartford who qualify.
Key areas of focus are:
- Promoting education on simple home repairs that you can do yourself to save money.
- Encourage the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor.
- Provide information on additional services available to you through community partnerships.
Teach a Workshop
Calling all teacher types. If you are handy and good at communicating, Rebuilding Together could use your help in teaching a workshop. Please contact our office, Cfowler@RTHartford.org or our Home Maintenance Workshop coordinator PAGS5253@aol.com to volunteer to run a Home Maintenance Workshop.
