Why You Should Support Rebuilding Together Hartford, Inc.

Rebuilding Together is the leading national nonprofit organization that rehabilitates the homes of low-income, particularly elderly, people living with disabilites and multigenerational families. Our goals are to keep people living in warmth, safety and independence, allowing them to age in place with dignity, and to revitalize neighborhoods and communities. After months of extensive preparation and planning, our work occurs primarily in the month of April, culminating in a National Rebuilding Day, the last Saturday in April. The Rebuilding Together movement is a nationwide affiliation of 240 local, independently managed Rebuilding Togehter programs. Through its headquarters in Washington, DC, the national office helps affiliates strengthen their capacity to effectively serve an increasing number of needy homeowners. Rebuilding Together provides assistance to affiliates in the areas of program planning and development, board and staff development, marketing and communications, and financial management. Rebuilding Togehter is helping to build stronger communities by:

  • Designing and sharing new program strategies and procedures, and assisting affiliates with more effective program management.
  • Reaching out to form new affiliates.
  • Promoting greater public and media awareness of the need for and impact of Rebuilding Together Hartford.
  • Encouraging national and regional partnerships with corporations and associations, bringing needed resources to both the national initiative and our local affiliates.
If you would like to become a partner in our important mission, please call or write us for information. View our important affiliate network.

Contributing To the Rebuilding Together Hartford, Inc. Effort

Rebuilding Together fills a much-needed gap, providing thousands of low-income, elderly and disabled Americans with hope. Yet, the need for our services is still vast. Without the patronage of many generous individuals, the livelihood of the organization would be in jeopardy. There are a number of ways to support the Rebuilding Together Hartford mission. Just some of the opportunities available are:

  • A tax-deductible cash gift.
  • A pledge over a one, two, or three year period; we will be happy to send you reminders.
  • A donation of appreciated stocks or real estate.
  • A gift of life insurance, or the proceeds from a retirement plan.
  • A charitable bequest.
  • An "Honorary Gift": a gift in tribute to friends, relatives or colleagues. Instead of sending a birthday, holiday, wedding or retirement gift, send a contribution to Rebuilding Together and we will send your friends cards advising them of your generosity.
  • Ask your company if they have a matching gift program. If they do, your contribution could be worth twice as much!
