Ready, Set, [Re]Build

HARTFORD, CT April 27, 2024 – Rebuilding Together, the leading national nonprofit organization with a vision to ensure safe homes and communities for everyone, hosts its annual National Rebuilding Month this month. Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide work year-round to provide essential home repairs for neighbors in need.

In our community of Hartford, Rebuilding Together Hartford (RTH) will host volunteers to repair 14 homes in Blue Hills on National Rebuilding Day, held on April 27, 2024.

The kickoff to National Rebuilding Day will commence on Friday, April 26th with a press conference beginning at 11:30 at 67 Lebanon Street Hartford, CT.

“The mission of RTH to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of Hartford's low-income homeowners is realized with feel good moments like this text we received from a homeowner preparing for her home rebuild,” said Dawn Whalen, Executive Director of the Hartford affiliate. In part she said “…Thank you, thank you, thank you, you touch me so deeply, you can’t even imagine. This is a manifestation of my vision board. God sent some remarkable people in my life Rebuilding Together [Hartford] and you guys. Tears of joy, I love you guys!” THIS, is what Rebuilding day is all about!  In these final weeks before Rebuilding Day, it’s stories like this that keep us motivated!

Thank you to all our sponsors, donors, volunteers and community partners for your service to RTH! You are what makes our work possible!
